SIMetrix uses the FLEXnet publisher (formerly FLEXlm) license manager developed Acresso Software. This page describes how to install the network license server
"I have used pretty much all of the simulators out there, Hspice, HPspice, PSpice, Mspice, Accusim, Spectre, SpectreRF and the list goes on... but none are as simple, straightforward to use as SIMetrix."
SIMetrix uses the FLEXnet publisher license manager developed Acresso Software. (FLEXnet publisher was formerly called FLEXlm).
To use network licensing, a license server must be set up on a single machine on your network. This page describes how to setup the license manager on a Windows machine. For Linux see Installing Network Licensing for Linux. The license manager may not be installed on Windows 95, 98 or ME.
You must have the installation program and a license file:
You must be logged on as an administrator to be able to install the license manager. With Windows Vista using "User Account Control" you will need to right click the program shortcut and select "Run as administrator". You must do this even if your account has full administrator privileges.
The install program will do everything needed to setup the license manager on your computer.
You may already be experienced with FLEXnet publisher installation and would prefer to install the license manager manually. If so please visit Windows License Manager Advanced Installation. This topic also explains in detail exactly what the automated installer (flex_install) will do.
