We currently will only fully support the following systems:
Redhat Enterprise Linux 3, 4 and 5
Currently only 32 bit versions are supported
SIMetrix will run correctly on other distributions. However, if you use an unsupported distribution, and you have difficulties with running SIMetrix on that distribution, we will not be able to offer assistance unless we can reproduce that difficulty with a supported distribution.
SIMetrix will usually run on any distribution that uses glibc 2.3.2 or later and gcc version 3.2.3 or later
SIMetrix and SIMetrix/SIMPLIS will run on any hardware capable of running the supported operating system.
SIMetrix and SIMetrix/SIMPLIS are CPU intensive applications and will benefit from the most powerful processors. Note, however, that multiple core processor do not currently provide a benefit for running a single instance of SIMetrix or SIMetrix/SIMPLIS.
